Scot Society

Wednesday 29 May
BP returns, weather factors mean choice of destination inevitably constrained to somewhere in the NYM where escape to the car is fast and the edge is out of the jet stream, so it has to be another session at this year's GO-TO venue;
Scot Crags!

NB joins in as chauffeur, rapporteur, chien-handleur and pixel-auteur. TM and gang also resident.

BP entertains the crowd with his regular warm-up act

Oak Tree Wall

AT almost ran out of balance a few moments later whilst mincing about below the top moves

BP eyes up the next sequence on Holly Tree Wall

Then finds a home for a bomber wire on Pet's Corner

Poppy looks on eponymously

RD follows

Animated on Pet's Corner

AT makes a fuss of Pup's Climb

Something very strange is going on with BP's
head and/or helmet on Tooth and Nail

A superbly efficient lead nonetheless

Maybe should leave the brain behind more often

Terrific session given the less than ideal weather - good effort by everyone

Moor Addicts

Wednesday 22nd May
Another opportunity to join in with the TM/MT hit squad, today's target is a session at the routinely brilliant;
Scot Crags

 This year's go-to venue has seen visits in Feb, March, April and May. Always worthwhile.

TM demonstrates the

Oak Tree Wall.

Success may be rewarded with an optional sitting rest

TM accidentally gives away a secret hold

There may be consequences

MT with some trademark moves on Wolf Whistle

CW deals with the crux middle section

No template needed for these free flowing moves

Oops he's done it again!

Remus tamed by TM

Small footholds unlock the hard moves up

AT welded some solid gear in
The Bulkhead

Unfortunately the higher holds were frankly disappointing

Could have done without the foot fandango with the rope

Two more moves up and the limit of gullibility was reached

Retreat seemed sensible and a hand over followed

TM showed the way

Time for Lime

Friday May 17th
About 650 recorded climbs since anything done on limestone, not counting the Dorset Sport Experience.  So a return to trad climbing on this medium is surely long overdue, where better to do a reboot than;
Twistleton Scar
Last visited more than five years ago!  CB roped in GE who managed to drag himself out after a hard day at Attemire the day before.  An extra rope came in handy to set up an abseil to save schlepping round and keep up the climbing intensity. GULP.

CB in Supreme form

GE led up a route to the right of Angel Delight

Not described in the Yorkshire Limestone Guide
Postscript
This was in fact Angel Delight!

GE goes extra-terrestial
on Mars Attacks

Moves right up this shallow groove left of The Fretsaw

Look at those climbers go

Continues with interest

It's the freakiest show

7 more abs added to this year's tally

AT had a bit of a jittery lead up the slippery hanging slab on Priority

GE follows CB's fine lead up the direct variation

The finishing wall has just enough of everything needed

Cleveland Hills - Return to Raven

Wednesday 15 May

Meet up with TM, MT and RD at the North York Moors' most character building venue, the ever undergraded but nonetheless quite magnificent butresseses of;

Raven's Scar

It's only May.  Even though it looks dark and forboding,the rock is dry and quite clean.  The climbing as usual rewards an intrepid and uncompromising mind set.

TM in a fabulous position high on Forest Face

Amazing

RD follows with some super shapes
