Strictly for the women

Vikki and Pete turned up on time courtesy East Coast on Thursday tea time.  Chicken curry with home made naan breads a surprise success.  Friday gym swim and facial then  fishialty at the pub.

Women ready for the off to the Strictly Show

Meanwhile Blokes went to the Matinee to check out some idols in a bit of Gothic London in Sherlock Holmes

Women return with great tales - FAH BU LOUS!  Austen was the winner.....

Sunday visited Ann and Phil, Hez and Helen - snowbound at Airport - 4 hour delay - nightmare end to a great weekend

Rabulous Darling

Seem to have been cooped up for a few days - so headed out west for some Keswick Therapy.  Nice lunch at 26 followed by a blitz round the shops - new Rab Neutrino for instant winter warming - better late than never, and a birthday base layer from Margaret.

Went on to Booths for bits and bobs then out to Castlerigg for a short walk, well, that was the plan.

Unfortunately seemed to get distracted by all the fantastic views and got a bit off the beaten track and bogged down in the badlands by St John's in the Vale.

Plodded doggedly on, regained the road, and made it back to the car at 17.00 as the sun sank behind Grisedale Pike - fabulous.

Got home in no time to home make a pizza base so cheated with a Morrisons bog basic with added extras from the cupboard.

Base layer back in the bag - too tight and icky - an excuse for another trip soon.

Tees Freeze

Sunday felt a bit warmer but offset by a fresh easterly.  Finally got round to the walk we'd been talking about for a fortnight.  River looking semi -artic-ulated, ice floes but no polar bears....

Broke trail back across the fields
and then back home for coffee and lunch.

Big Dump

Well it snowed again last night and this morning.  The sun came out over lunch - so threw the homework on the fire and took a walk down (Winston) town.

The tombstones in the sunlight looked like bones.

As for the the young guy on the sledge - some say they feared him - others denied him.

But he stole some big air...

Later on took a wander round with Her Luminescence with light to match - brilliant!
(in a Fast Show kind of way....)

HO HO HOve

Another visit down south, this time with added logistics.  First an overnight stop at Dad's, dropping him off after intensive WWOW therapy

Left Wednesday morning for a boot buying session at Profeet in Fulham - Traffic dodged - Technica Phoenix duly approved, adapted and procured.

Then off down for a mid week break with Vikki and Pete.  Once again sampled the Ginger Pig - however fresh sea bass sent back to the chef - smelt funny.  Saw the New Year in.... surfing on a wave of Vikki's Thaitastic food,, (Belgian) choc and  booze - stayed up till gone 2am - a middle years record?  Homeward bound on New Years Day and a drop in lunch at the Lilley's - lovely.

Saturday sees more snow falling - trip to gym cancelled!
