Jurassic Rock

Thursday 5th September

Good to get something done on the tenth anniversary of the Gunter Tapes.  Apparently the NY Moors were formed during the Jurassic Age.   Not that today's climbers could be mistaken for any kind of return of the dinosaurs at;

Scot Crags Scugdale

MT climbs into the dazzle of a glorious late summer morning

TM reaching out on the righteous route left of Saint's Wall.

Pet's Corner

TM keeps to a sporting line up the right side

The usual economy of style

Gravity Wall takes some great runners

Until it doesn't.....

The traverse left and moves up feel a little precarious.  TM eyes up the good holds higher up.

AT makes old fashioned shapes on the uber-trad Gallileo's Gully

Left Corner Direct - One of Scot Crags' finest Severes

AT looks for the right friend.  The minimal racking proved sadly lacking

Oh well, just have to step up and reach the big jug at the top then

Uncles at VS 4c is a tough proposition even on a top rope.

MT gets stuck in

TM makes it look relatively straightforward thus far

Moving into the crux on very tenuous holds

A long reach to a side pull feels quite out there though.

Hanging onto a poor hand hold.

Teetering on tenuous foot placements

Due to be disappointed by the left hand side pull

Before being beaten by the Bop Route

Works better up the left
