Colin Binks

Colin Binks - 13 times 5 years.

A selection of stuff for a man in his prime

Thanks to Rockfax for this one(c) CC

Colin seen here about 40 seconds after arriving at the crag.

Tidy rack or what?

No detail missed

Pushing the partner.

Climbed up, small holds, getting smaller, gear in, close to limit, climb down. Look at Colin. He looks back. I gather myself and climb, up past the gear, out over the drop, up under the roof, flap in a wire, useless! Grab a cam, ram it in, clip it and breathe.
Unforgettable.

Renowned exponent of the "fine position".

In "gent" mode
(as always)

Trend setting, not sure where to!?

 Norm won't forget this one

All the best Colin

Hi Colin,
Hope you have a fantastic birthday in the sunshine in Greece. I feel very lucky to be able to share this auspicious 65th birthday with you. I also feel confident that having reached this grand old age you will start to take things a lot easier (But I won't be holding my breath!!)

Thanks for everything you have done for me over the years, you are a true star and a great friend. I can look back on many of our days out in the hills and truthfully say they have been "UNFORGETTABLE MAGIC!" Thank you so much. Enjoy the next exciting stages of your amazing journey and we all look forward to seeing you on your return to the UK (Cos you're buying the beer!)

Special hi to Chris & Sherri. Commiserations to you as you've both had to put up with him a lot longer than most of us (only joking Colin!)

Thanks also to techno wizard Andy T for making this message possible.

All the very best for a wonderful birthday on 27th.
Love
Bruce & Shushma

Hi Colin, all the best to you from the Bennett family, thanks for the time you gave to Paul as a youngster and for moving me on from fell walker to climber (of sorts) - that day we went out for a walk, you brought a mate(Andy) and the walk became near vertical - conned or what!
Happy Birthday, Grace,Paul and Norm.

Hi Col
I can't believe it! How do you keep so fit and full of life. Don't forget what you always tell me - you're only as young as the women you feel. Thanks for all the great times and memories over the years. I'll never forget the female impersonation on Lundy, the huge variety of hats and sleeping in the dungeons at Swanage to name but a few.
Have a great day and a brilliant holiday
Lots of love
Graham, Helen and Dan

Hi Colin,
Hope you have a great birthday and great weather in Greece for the special day. Don't suppose the bus pass will be much use to you out there, but it can be very useful in the Lakes when you get back here, and for popping to the Post Office to pick up the pension!
Many thanks Colin for supervising my reintroduction to climbing when I pitched up at Rock Antics some years ago with Andy, and my steel Karabiners and hemp slings! The spirit is still willing but the 66 year old flesh is grumbling a bit. Don't suppose you'd like to share your secret of everlasting youthfulness?
Very best wishes for a really jolly birthday!
Peter

Hi Col,

Many congrats on reaching your bus pass and pension. Many thanks for all your help, advice and guidance over all these years - especially all those evenings in Nth Yorks. Long may you live and climb.

Cheers and have a good one,
John(New Zealand)

Yassou Colin! Happy Birthday to you - our most colourful climbing friend in every way!

I can't help wondering if you are still showing people how to make the most difficult moves whilst wearing your dress shoes! I hope you are still laughing like a drain, it would be great to hear that laugh again and lovely to see you.
Hope you are having a great time in Greece, have a drink or two for us and have a fabulous Birthday doing everything you would like to do!
Take care, hope to see you soon
Yammas!

Happy Birthday Colin!

65 isn't anything to worry about, it's just an odd looking 39 in reverse!

Hope you're having a great time driving Chris up them walls in Greece, the number of times you've set off with no gear and no belayer, its a wonder you're in one piece, but glad you are!

Take care & have fun
