The Dark Side of the Moors

Wednesday July 17th
After Sundays trip the option to join in with TM and MT was too good to miss, what's more the target venue was high on our list so it had to be all systems GO for a return to the unaccountably under-used buttresses at;

Raven's Scar
BP's rack augmented with a wire brush to fettle some of the less well traveled routes

TM and MT seen from the forest path finishing up on Forest Face

AT follows suit, sorts out rope ready for moving up on green

The mission handbook calls for a big nut here

The moves up the headwall are,

as usual,

great.

MT helpfully hung around to bring us up Sam's Stretch.

Would be a committing lead, could do with swapping a stone of lard for seven pounds of beef.

Drift a little right followed by a rock over onto a safe landing on a small ledge

Monkey Nut
Another new lead for BP

Much better than it looks with a very definite but well protected crux up through the impending groove.

AT followed on with a two pitch lead on Evening Wall.  Horticultural.

Another battle up the bulging corner of
En Passant.

AT on Waterslide

The LH start was quite dirty until BP gave it a good seeing to.

The objective was the variation finish, as demonstrated by TM below.

Unfortunately AT goofed up the rope work and obliged himself to a finish up the normal way

Next time sometime soon.
